The Facts

Renewable energy sources accounted for 5.4% of total electricity output in 20091. Such technologies as tidal, wind, solar and geothermal generation are starting to develop the kind of efficiencies (of scale and output) that we will need to achieve the government’s ambitious target of achieving an 80% CO2 reduction in non-domestic buildings by 20502.
